TESTIMONIES
Israeli soldiers involved in suppressing the first Palestinian Intifada, 1987-1989, discuss emotions they experienced then and memories they now harbor. Some speak matter-of-fact about "following orders," when confronted with film footage of themselves brutalizing unarmed Palestinians. Others are deeply conflicted. Tracing the on-the-ground processes entailed by a policy of military action in a civilian population, this tape takes a painfully critical look at progressive and pervasive dehumanization among Israeli soldiers and commanders.
