Christina Montano van Duijn is a healer and a writer. She has studied with many inspiring teachers around the globe. She has a masters degree is Holistic Living from Lesley College. This is her first film and she is enthusiastic about the prospect of making many more. Christina made Birth of a Family to empower women, to bring awareness, healing and insight into the modern birthing world.
She spent the summer she met Nielsen sailing and they have continued on this adventure together, traveling and experiencing life with their four children. Christina has a healing body work practice, gardens, makes soup and writes her blog: anitalianinmaine.com and voyageofafamily.com
Nielsen J. van Duijn is an Architect, builder and inventor he studied at Yale University and invented the eMoniter, a modern device that monitors electricity in the home. Nielsen has created many beautiful homes as well as a green development project, in Maine.
He grew up in an artistic Dutch family drawing, writing, building, restoring and playing on old wood boats, and making short films with his dad’s super 8 camera. Later he traveled through Europe and the Caribbean, fell in love with sailing, and then with his wife Christina. He bought his first camera prior to the birth of their first child.
Together Christina and Nielsen have moved from the metropolis of Southern Connecticut to the coast of Maine. Where they live a life filled with endless ideas, excited children, a bunch of pets, and a wooden sail boat. They are presently working on their next film.
