SHIRLY BERKOVITZ

Shirly Berkowitch is a graduate of the film department at Beit Berl Arts College, Israel.
Her debut documentary “The Way Up” (2009) won the Best Documentary Award of the Woman in Cinema section at the Romania Int'l Film Festival, the Golden Medal Award for Best Documentary at Belgrade Documentary and Shorts Film Festival, an Honourable Mention at TLVFest GLBT Film Festival and was screened in several film festivals around the world.
Shirly’s previous films were produced during her studies:
While studying Shirly directred and produced the films “Blocked”(2004) which was screened at the Haifa Int’l Film Festival, “One Hundred Percent ”(2005) which was screened at the Docaviv Int’l Film Festival and on the Israeli Channel 2.
Shirly is currently working on a mini-documentary series. The series, funded by YesDocu Channel, is in the editing process these days (Editor:Tova Asher). She is also shooting another documentary film called “Two Voices”.
Additionally, Shirly directed two short films for the social project “Awakening” created by Channel YesDocu. The films were also screened at Haifa Int’l Film Festival 2011.

Director of “First Love”, Celcom’s (mobile company) mega Internet project.
Media and film tutor at the Youth Excellency Project of the Tel Aviv Cinemateque.
She is also an associate director and editor in several other projects in the TV industry.
